My heart in the sky,
this fire light burning bright...
Sorrow finds beauty.
If only this beautiful sunset
was just the light capturing my heart...
But this amazing sky
is full of color because of the enormous fire raging to the North of us.
Over a hundred square miles have burned,
groves of oaks, valleys and mountaintops
that are home to countless animals,
homes and businesses lost in one of the largest wildfires
burning in California, fueled by the four-year drought
ravaging our state.
Beauty and sorrow
and my heart.
The sky holds it all...
