The first day of Fall, here in Northern California, was close to 100 degrees F. I headed out to our beautiful Pacific Coast in search of a bit of cool air. I took along with me a bucket of shells, stones, crystals and bits that I’ve collected from around the world over the past thirty years. I was ready to let them go and this first day of Fall was the perfect time to do so…
Creating a three-circuit labyrinth, I placed the bits and pieces along the lines. The outer edge needed a bit more definition and a piece of seaweed was the perfect fit. Quite a few people stopped to ask what I was doing. One couple stayed for awhile. We discovered all sorts of connections stretching over the years, even though we were meeting for the first time. Circles winding in on themselves and spiraling out…
Soon after they meandered back down the beach an extra large wave came in fast and smoothed the entire area… leaving my circles and spirals in a line along the tide’s edge…
Letting go…
releasing back to the ocean…
setting these bits and pieces of my life…
free.
